Welcome to Heaton Nursery.

Heaton Nursery is a private registered day nursery school, which has been established for since 1970 and caters for children from 6 weeks to 10 years. The nursery is situated 10 minutes from Newcastle City Centre with easy access from all areas.

Heaton Nursery operates four rooms within the building – one for children 6 weeks – 1 ½ years, one 1 ½ years to 2 ½ years and one 2 ½ years to school age, school age – 10 years. We provide a professional service in very safe and happy surroundings, preparing children for entry into Primary School. We take in children of all ages – a great asset to parents having two or more children, who wish to work.

A child’s greatest power of learning is from 0-5 years of age. These years are the most formative of a child’s life. We use a unique blend of qualified Teachers and Nursery Nurses to care for and stimulate your child. Outside play areas are available and used all year round.

By the time your child is old enough to go to Primary School, he/she will have been taught first stage reading and writing, beginner’s French and Music and Movement, in a homely friendly Day Nursery with a solid traditional and educational element to each day.

The nursery has implemented the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) since September 2008, this allows the children the opportunity to actively learn, to use personal initiative and to problem solve. The EYFS focuses on children’s strengths, and thus promotes children’s confidence in an environment, which is based on support and encouragement rather than child management.
